All EB (Employment Based Green Card) Categories Current!
The U.S. Department of State amazed everyone by making almost all employment-based (EB) categories current in its Visa Bulletin for July 2007. This is great news for many who have waited a long time to file their I-485 Adjustment of Status and consular processing cases.
After wonderful news in the June 2007 Visa Bulletin, when there was significant forward movement in the cutoff dates for the employment-based second preference (EB2) and the employment-based third preference (EB3) categories, there has been an unprecedented jump in almost all of the EB preference categories, which are now current! The only exception is the "Other Workers" category, which is currently unavailable.
This substantial forward movement of EB immigrant visa numbers is surprising. Many people whose priority dates have not been current for years will now be able to file their I-485 Adjustment of Status (AOS) cases, and many pending I-485/AOS cases and consular processing (CP) cases are potentially eligible for approval while the priority dates remain current.
We don't know how long this availability will last, so please contact our office to start preparing your adjustment of status application for filing.
